The Inuit Cancer Glossary is Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada’s newest cancer resource for Inuit. It is intended to provide Inuit patients and caregivers, as well as health care professionals, plain language information about cancer in English and five major dialects of Inuktitut.

There are many terms to describe cancer. In Nunavut the term for cancer is Ippinnaittuliniq and in Nunavik (Northern Quebec) it is Piguinnaaq Aarqittaugunnatuq. The Nunatsiavut Region (in Labrador) uses the term Kiansu to describe cancer in their respective dialect and the Inuvialuit region (in the Northwest Territories) uses the term Pukkuqluk.
